Surely boozers in Edinburgh can't increase prices anymore, not far off £5-6 a pint in most places as it is.

Probs see a few businesses shut down tbh.
An absolute scandal how much they've gone up - irrespective of who did it. But yeah, bars prices will go up. Owners either take the hit themselves or pass it onto customers

Rates increases are horrific for a small medium enterprise.
But - iirc- the SNP just mirrored the same increase and methodology imposed by tories down south?

The minimum unit will no doubt be excluding VAT so for the end user it's basically £0.60p a unit

Sad to see people not understanding/caring that you can't put a price on public health.

Quite a staggering response from people when you take their bevvy away.
We can look forward to lower rates of alcoholism, lower violent crime, lower liver problems, lower premature death, lower number of wetherspoons, lower number of Chrambos. Maybe a few of you guys will go out and play a bit of pitch-and-putt instead of sat in the boozer. I can't wait for attitudes to drink to change. The hostility on here is quite revealing.
"You’ll do plums"

Likes of Wetherspoons etc. can take the hit (although will probably still pass on a % to customers) but the small bars and restaurants will suffer. As you say, quite a few will close down. ETA: Because of rates not min pricing.
