You ever noticed how these far left types that go on about cultural appropriation or feminists who judge other women on what they can/can't do (like the F1 car girls) are more like modern day puritans than anything else. Most importantly it detracts from things that actually matter and worth pulling people up about. Shit like this opens the door for your i8s and CC's to group real nasty, racist stuff with this nonsense and dismiss it all.

As for feminists, they disagree on a lot and there is certainly a dumb puritanical element (imo) that misses the point of feminism altogether (some would argue) and actually diminishes sexual freedom.

Look at how some feminists turned on Germaine Greer for sticking to her guns on her views of transsexuals. The best thing you can do if you start to study feminism is not assume that they are a bloc and be open to agreeing with a lot of what some feminists say. There are lots of different strands, some I couldn't agree more with and some I disagree with entirely. I'm undecided on the Greer debate. I think she makes some valid if inconvenient truths.

Actually got into an argument in the boozer with a lefty chum on Friday as he was trying to claim that it was impossible (not unlikely) that a white male can ever be discriminated against. It became quite heated. Still a wee bit annoyed about it Sad

An example I was thinking of was white people thinking they can use the N word because some black people do. There are specific cultural reasons why black people saying it is 'okay' while white people saying it isn't. That could be described as cultural appropriation.

Not things like eating Indian food, celebrating Chinese New Year, having dreadlocks, or using your Muay Thai skills to batter Walt.

Not sure I told the story of when I was in San Francisco on a coke binge with my pal and his black flat mate. We had this huge heart to heart, as you do when you hit the slopes, and he basically forced us to say it as we were his boys. Mentioned it in the morning and almost got shot.
