Pretty sure that's a pretty standard sentence for drink driving. Should he be punished more harshly because he is famous?

He crashed into a car with a child in it, while drunk. The punishment should've been more harsh in my opinion.
I don't really know the law so correct me if I'm wrong, but is he not a high risk offender given he has previous for drug and drink addiction? Given the high profile of the case, I always think they should be punished slightly more harsh. People will be less likely to drink drive if they see that even somebody like Ant McPartlin gets jailed. Now all they see is a person who's been fined based on their income, and has essentially gotten away with it.

Mind when Lewis said he didn't pay attention to speed limits and just drove at what he felt was right for the road
“What age was wee mcausland when he was running rings round this league?“

He's assessed the dangers so it's fine

He's right though. Folk that piddle about at 30 when it's just not needed give me incandescent road rage.

Exactly, like with anything in life a bit of common sense can go a long way, problem is the amount of people who aren't able to apply common sense to anything.

1930: Cars like the Wolseley (>30K were built out of Birmingham, between 1930-36) were introduced the year the 30mph speed limit was made law.
From Wiki ... Quote:Lockheed hydraulic brakes are fitted on all four wheels. 1965: Cars like the Peugeot 204 were introduced the year the 70mph speed limit was made law. From Wiki ... Quote:The 204 was also the first Peugeot to be equipped with disc brakes, albeit only on the front wheels. Although of course today most folks drive around on weak-as-pish cooking lager like Tennents, as opposed to the sherry-induced heavy you got from Diggers for example, or good skunk which enhances your concentration as opposed to the opioid tinctures they were all into back yonder. No amount of discussion is going to convince me that the speed limits were there to protect folks like Mags in his Bentley 8 litre, or even Lewis in his Bedford Beagle because they were oot their tits but rather because of the limits on the technology.
