I think it's needed but nothing will change until they start to pay employees to work for the foundation. How can we have pulled in 16 million and still depend on volunteers. Fucking diddy stuff.

I stopped my pledge as I've just zero faith in the vision they have (if any) and have no idea where the money is going. Foundation day at Tynecastle the other week v Dundee Utd (?) and literally the only thing I saw to do with the Foundation was on the pitch at half-time. No fan engagement and half arsed.

100% agree about paying folk.

The way the organisation is run for the amount of money they’re pulling in a month is incredibly amateur. You can expect that at the start but how many years is that it’s been going now? Don’t feel they have progressed at all really and it all relies so heavily on the fans goodwill as their effort in terms of fundraising is essentially non existent. I’m sure all they do is mass emails.

I stopped my subscription years ago when work was shite and never felt the desire to start it back up again. I buy enough through hearts via season ticket/home tap etc.

I'm no legal or financial expert.

But feels like the money just flows from FOH to Hearts. Then Hearts and their Board spend it as they see fit. We have two token FOH members on the Board. Not Exec Directors. Not sure they even vote.

Shouldn't the funds have been retained by FOH. For Hearts to apply for every year. To pitch almost. Their needs for the near 2m.

Now it's just blended into expected monthly income to cover overheads. Encourages our incompetent Board to be complacent and wasteful.

That's a good shout actually but as was mrntioned above FOH would need to get professional and start paying folks to administer it. Plus who knows how all that would be affected by Taxes and not for profit status etc.

I'm not sure how much overhead it'd take for FOH to do.
But yeah. Hearts would pitch for additional infrastructure funding. Or a top level manager. Or top up recruitment funds. But. They could never rely on FOH money.
And we'd literarily hold these purse strings. Too flabby just now. We hand over money and aren't even asked our opinion really. Budge then spends however she tells McKinlay to spend it.

It's how the FOH has always been sold, there's no way it would change now.

Fans are putting money in purely to help fund the club at this point, it was never sold as anything else once the club was bought.

The pitches are up

https://www.foundationofhearts.org/blogs...candidates

Locke is continuing as a club employee. Na, can't be having that.

Gerry Mallon's pitch is particularly underwhelming.

One of the candidates mentions the clubs ambitions to raise the amount of pledgers from 8000+ to 15000 I genuinely don’t think they will manage that whilst Budge has her fingers in the till.
I’ve never pledged but given how wasteful the current board have been with Money I’d be hard pressed to pledge unless we were in financial trouble or someone was going to take them to task over there failings

Douglas Shirlaw should be ruled out purely on the fact he couldn’t follow simple instructions to put his speech on fresh sheet!

Glad to hear him and his Poundland analysis skills aren’t taking any part in this.

Wait what?

Dougie Shirlaw?? I worked with him at HMV back in the day and went over to Munich with him. Epic trip and he got us into an after party with Depeche Mode. ( VanGaals Bitch / Eek )

I'd vote for him.

Everyone should be free to run, but after reading everyone’s personal statement, his statement included the most business jargon filler. I like Locke’s statement but he can’t continue to be employed by the club.

You should run.

That would be someone else I could not vote for.

You’ve got to have thick skin to put yourself up for something like this. Scott isn’t daft, not sure how he’s not seen that.

See Gary Locke got appointed.

An employee in the FoH isn't right.
