I never think rattling through the subs is a good idea, I know it's a friendly and he needs to have a look at everyone but it just kills the game.

Does anyone actually still think that wee Soapy will be Scotland captain for a decade, by the way?

On the back of these games, what do you think is McLeish's favoured line-up if all fit?
I reckon it is: -----------------------Gordon---------------------- -------McKenna-----Mulgrew----Tierney------- Paterson------------Mctominay-----------Robertson -----------------------Mcgregor------------------ ---------------Forrest------------Armstrong------------ ------------------------Griffiths---------------- Maybe he prefers Fraser for Paterson? I'd have Berra in the squad, so if Mulgrew gets injured then Berra can guide McKenna and Tierney through the matches. Good to have Hendry coming through also. That is a very strong team, incredibly dynamic.

Probably along those lines aye.
I'm not sure where Paterson fits in at the moment tbh. He doesn't look the same player at that level.

I'd rather have McGregor between the sticks than Gordon, Gordon is a big shitebag these days and he'll be even more tentative after his latest injury.
Not sure he's that close to knowing his strongest line up yet but it will depend on form and injuries I suppose, feel like we have plenty options in most positions though apart from up top, we will be relying on Griffiths being fit and in form.

I'd probably have Paterson ahead of Forrest at the moment, and Berra ahead of Mulgrew, but that's probably more like what we'll see.

Wouldn't have Paterson ahead of Forrest like, I think the only way Paterson is going to be used is if he brushes up his game in the wingback role.

If you take my suggested line-up and play Fraser instead of Paterson*, you can see that barring Mulgrew there are no English lower league players. Only EPL or SPFL players selected.
*All going well, Paterson will be in the EPL next year too. As an aside, I forgot we have Snodgrass too. ![]() Hopefully Blackburn are back in the championship next season, as our captain playing in league one is unacceptable.

Snodgrass, apart from a hat-trick against Malta was rubbish in the last campaign, I've always liked him and thought he'd become a sort of talisman (McFadden type) for us but it's just not happened for him at International level, think injuries have taken their toll unfortunately.
Hopefully that Burke can kick on a bit and get back in the squad, I think Strachan felt pressured in to including him in the last campaign and it was a big mistake, he's nowhere near ready.
