“ The number of players that they've gone through since Ann came in is enormous - it's around 93 players which is absolutely mental. What chance has the club got if the ethos from the top is: 'We'll just to do it all again in the summer, the fans will donate more money'? â€

Tbh 93 players in since 2014 isn't really the problem, it's probably on the high side but I doubt it's that far above average for Scottish teams. The problem is that about 85 of them have been complete shite.

Called it early doors that this strategy of ripping a squad up and starting again every summer was destined for failure, you can't build a winning team when the first team basically has to start from scratch every summer, even with better coaching and recruitment.

Remember when Neil Alexander was offered a contract extension and then had it unceremoniously withdrawn. I seem to recall Alexander - who is a decent Hearts fan - was pretty pissed off about it and rightly so. I remember the players doing their lap of honour at the end of the season and Scott Wilson shoved the microphone in Alexander's face to ask if he would be here the following year, and you could tell from Alexander's voice he wasn't sure and didn't want to discuss it openly. The contract was withdrawn and Jack Hamikton ended up being our number one the following season. And everyone knows how disastrous that was. Not only do we consistently treat players like crap but it usually comes back to bite us on the arse.

Ozturk was another one that was unceremoniously forced out.
You can see folk from the tail end of the Romanov era (Kyle, Elliott, McGowan, etc) that express their love for Hearts on Twitter regularly. Nobody from this era will be tweeting positively about the club 5+ years after they left. They are more likely to be like Rherras and wind up Hearts fans at every opportunity

Even Berra. We all know he has to go but the timing after such a shit week is like a big fuck you to a guy who has been great for us in the main. Why not announce it after the league is won so that the fans will at least be in a better mood to give the guy a good send off.
All very weird.

Would be peak Hearts to decide he's now worth a deal though. ![]() What we should be doing is trying to sign Alan Campbell from Motherwell, but the reality is that we won't, he'll then go to Hibs or Aberdeen, and instantly look the part. I fucking hate this regime!!!
