I think Sammon may be a worse signing than John Sutton
He's certainly nudging up there in my hatred toward him

We really need to be creative and set him up for something so we can sack him, you can't have that cunt knocking about for 3 year.

Are Sammon and John Murray mates or something?

Think too many people are expecting too much of our young players because funk has set some sort of standard.
Funk is a complete anomaly. He's looked in place ever since coming through at 17, I'd say it's mainly due to his physique at that point as he was able to compete with older players. Robbie muirhead has shown decent flashes in the games he's played. There's been a few games where he's come on and improved the side (game at tynie where sammon and watt were hooked for muirhead and Bjorn sticks out) but there's a fair bit of improvement needed. We're never going to develop players if we chuck them after a season because they're not playing like a 28 yo seasoned pro. We've absolutely struggled for years to produce a half decent striker, I reckon with the right coaching Muirhead could become a good player for us.

Sutton was arguably more disappointing since he'd usually got 10-15 goals a season for Motherwell etc. but couldn't hack it here. Sammon you knew was going to shit as soon as he'd signed.

Mind the big write ups from Sheffield United fans declaring him 'THE WORST STRIKER EVER' and how they felt sorry for Hearts
Levein showed us by handing him the deluxe deal

I think he's shown enough to win another year a least, maybe 2 One of our most exciting players for me, actually runs with his head up and looks to take men on. Really want to see him getting more time on the pitch. (01-15-2017, 12:26 PM)Morph Wrote: Think too many people are expecting too much of our young players because funk has set some sort of standard. Agree with all of that but don't think he's a 'striker'. I see him more as a winger or just behind the striker.

Muirhead is far too slow to be a winger and not skilful enough to play off the striker.

Muirhead to me looks like a young player who could really be developed into a good player. He is very raw but has a lot of talent.

My view of him is he works quite hard, has a decent left foot but like Mikey said lacks a burst of pace and a bit of skill, decent but not going to be spectacular.

Cathro is well known for working well with players at a young age. Players like Muirhead might thrive with his coaching.
Just need to wait and see but I don't see any reason why we'd look to get rid of him. Still think hearts is a far more desirable club than MK Dons especially having Cathro here so hopefully it's easy as just signing the dotted line.

Muirhead is a big pudding.

Would not be that fussed if Muirhead is moved on if truth be told.
01-15-2017, 01:52 PM
Muirhead is a slightly better Gavin Reily.
01-15-2017, 01:54 PM
Yeah not really arsed if he gets shifted, bang average.

I think he's decent. Replaceable, but decent.
