Neilson obviously found Logan to be too big a character given he fitted in well and has been decent in his 5 games.
https://twitter.com/barryanderson_/statu...30756?s=21 I'd heard he was a really good character in the dressing room since he came in. I get the point about age generally but we knew how old he was when we signed him ffs.

He probably would have been worth a year, particularly if he's good in the dressing room. Now need a back up RB and CB.

What a pointless waste of time.

Surely going to go down in history as one of our most confusing signings
A 33-year-old right back brought in to get us over the line in a league we were going to win anyway with, if Neilson is to be believed, no real intention of making the signing permanent. Just really strange.

Brace yourselves for us scrambling around for centre backs in the summer, failing to get one and trying to go back cap in hand to Logan only for him to tell us to fuck off.

8 months older than Smith. Smith hasn't really kicked a ball this season and wasn't pulling up trees last year (although nobody was).
We don't need a back up RB, we need a first choice RB. Alongside half a dozen starters.

Cammo toe making a fair point about smith as well in another thread. Logan has been better than he was for most of the season.

I don't mind the logic behind the decision, it's just where has this desire for a younger team come from?
It feels like it has only popped up since there has been some fan criticism around it and once again we're making it up as we go along.

See Hibs are signing the wee winger MacKay whos had a great season at Inverness. Exactly the kind of player we should be in for instead of signing shite like Kastaneer

Big mistake for me. We've stumbled upon something decent since Logan came in with the back three. Souttar coming back has obviously helped, but I think Smith is more settled as a CB, especially since he wasn't exactly allowed to bomb forward throughout the season.
So we are trusting Neilson to bring in another backup RB (assuming the other Logan is nowhere near first team ready and Brandon is crippled for a while yet) and another couple of CB's?

Probably worth mentioning that bringing in Shay Logan for 5 meaningless games has actively contributed to us not knowing whether the other Logan is ready yet

Three or four months of this nonsense until the season starts.
Neilson had the longest pre-season in club history to get it right this season and he did a shite job to prepare us against part timers and jobbers. I've no faith in him getting a team together ready to hit the ground running next season.

So we're not signing experienced players anymore and we're signing young players? The amount of mixed messages coming from the club about the team is ludicrous. Absolutely rudderless :

Can't remember a bigger window for us. Again we need a totally new team.
Savage will be judged on this. We already know Robbie is shit but Savage is unproven. Better be a conveyor belt of English lower league gems arriving soon. I also hope we've binned whatever agents we were using under Levein. And Murray is on internal gardening leave. In other news that Walsall lad that went to Luton. 5 goals in 15 games and rave reports. Ones we miss do well. Ones we get turn worse. McEneff. Gnanduillet. Kingsley. GMS. Halliday. Halkett.... Supposedly Hibs and Aberdeen about to announce Mackay and Gallagher respectively. This will just add fan pressure at Hearts. And hearing ponderous Mikey Smith is our RB for next season won't make that go away.

We were priced out of the Adebayo deal, so I'm not going to lose the rag over that one. Seems pretty obvious that Gnanduillet was the cheaper back-up, and it has shown.
McEneff has looked better since we shifted to this 3-5-1-1 formation, imo. Having Haring in has given him more freedom, but no way can we rely on Haring staying fit for more than a couple of games in a row.
05-04-2021, 09:34 AM
Haring's lack of mobility these days will be totally exposed in the top division imo.

We're then priced out of a pretty modest fee for the Walsall lad. I do hope there's a player in McEneff. We seem to over coach the creativity out of players. Robbie probably telling him to play the easy pass and track back, limit his runs. St Mirren let their young MFs run and express themselves. Erhahon. McGrath. Both being touted for moves. We just seem like we restrict something. McEneff might be suffering from too much Robbie.
