I was thinking at the weekend that we could go twenty years without having another striker who is as capable as Boyce. Hold up, movement, finishing, bit o dig, heading - he's a quality striker.

Boyce bugged me at times last season with how deep he plays but he's improving all the time. I can't remember when we last had such a consistent striker. The sort of guy if you check the scores and haven't seen the game you know he's going to have nabbed a goal.

We still need more though, strange way for Anderson to frame it.

Been a big fan of Boyce since he joined, think he comes deep out of frustration but he's not the only player to ever do that.

He's a bit of quicker decision making from being an incredible striker I think that's the only thing that holds him back. Technically class and he's very clever as well but quite often he'll just not make that pass quick enough and try to overplay it.

Very lucky to have him though, he'll be really hard to replace.

He's a very good player who I don't think we've even seen him hit top form for us yet.

You just have to live with the frustration of him not releasing the ball quicker, otherwise he probably would've made a career for himself in the English championship easily and wouldn't be near us.

That GMS goal against Celtic though, lucky we scored that as Boyce refused to play him in, Halliday in the podcast was saying he should've received the ball first time also.

Good that he wants goals for himself and backs himself though.

Boyce's goal at st mirren is what I want to see more of from him, getting quick shots away from that 18-22 yard range low and hard. When you watch the top number 9s that's how they get so many of their goals. Overall he's quality though and there aren't many strikers in Scotland I'd swap him for.
