You don't realise it fully at the time but I don't think it gets any better than that.

I always mind at half time and some young lad was stressing because they’d pulled a goal back and I told him for them to win they need to score 2 and no chance that’ll happen but could quite easily see us getting a couple more, it’ll be 4-1 full time. 4th went in and I got knocked flying by him and his mates jumping over me  Monty Chuckle

Only thing that would realistically come close would be winning the league, think I would still probably take absolutely smashing them in the Scottish final.

I hope we never play them in a cup final again tbh, obviously the day was amazing but I felt sick for weeks in the lead up.

Beating Celtic would probably top it. As brilliant as it was, you expect to beat Hibs.

I think a last minute sickener to beat them would’ve been even sweeter but scudding them like that in ours and their biggest game ever was Piggy

I'm one of they hipsters who enjoyed the 4-0 semi a little more. GodIsGod

I was a bit too young, but 1998 must've been class for the old boys too. Pumping the 9 in a row Ranjurs to end the drought.

I think I'd put 1998 at the top of any game I've been to; I was young, but old enough to appreciate the game's magnitude. The 2006 semi is no.2, that was the real final. Hard to say where I'd place 2012 if I'd made it.

Nothing touches 98 for me, 5-1 was an amazing day but getting that win was something else

5-1 is the peak, the relief when the first went in, the scenes when the 4th went in VanGaals Bitch

I've accepted that day might not be topped.

Feel I was probably too young to really appreciate the magnitude of 98

Hekens

Genuinely my best ever day watching Hearts.

My second ever Hearts game as a kid was the 86 cup final and then I was at every semifinal and final after that, those defeats to Airdrie. Fat Cunt

Getting pumped off Rangers in the final when Laudrup ran amok, coming back in the league cup final only to fall short to a Gascoigne masterclass, I genuinely believed we were never going to win it.

I think that being alive to see us win the league would be the only thing that would top it now.

I remember 98 but was too young to really grasp the moment. I was at the 98 semi at Ibrox and thought I'd seen the best player in the world at that time in Kevin McAllister.

Thought we were gonna finally win one with the coca cola league cup final. In retrospect, i'm glad we didn't but i really thought it was happening that day.

Going to that, and 96 and a few semis meant i felt like i'd earned 1998, but i can't imagine waiting 36/42 years to see a trophy. What was it like Floyd?

That’s probably the best single performance I’ve ever seen in person. He was unbelievable that day

The only thing I’d add though is as good as he was that day Gary Naysmith always hated playing against a tricky wee winger. Think it was Dougie Arnott at Motherwell who used to always give him a torrid time too

I attended my first Hearts game in 1979 as an 8 year old. I waited 19 years to see us lift a trophy.

I'm assuming I'm the oldest on here?

Neil McCann was brilliant in the 1996 Coca Cola cup final. It was a travesty he was on the losing team.

Can we acknowledge how good Stevie Fulton was. Younger fans don’t realise that hearts used to have artists playing for us in amongst the hustle and bustle. I think you have to have experienced boys like Fulton to fully understand why folk like Cowie, Grant and to a lesser extent Devlin make us sick
