Dogsitting Connie this week. 13 year old now. Blind and deaf as a post but still a good girl

Just had my mum on the phone there to tell me that their dog has died.

Poor Floyd was at the emergency vet over the weekend as he was shaky on his feet, and they gave him medication for his heart, but he's not got any better and started falling over, so he got taken back tonight and has been put to sleep.

He was pushing 13 now, which is pretty good going for a Boxer, but it's still a bit of a sore one to take as he's always been a big daft bouncy dug, who was always chuffed to see you, even as he got older.

Not looking forward to having to tell my daughter, as they were best pals when she was younger, but what can you do?

My old man is devastated and has disappeared for a “long walk” (trip down the boozer). Text him when I heard (as he didn't answer the phone) and he's replied with a picture of the dug, and said he's just feeling raw and he'll give me a phone through the week.
