Yeh, he still has it all to prove. I actually used to not rate Sainz either but these days I have a feeling there is something about him.

I wonder where this leaves Bottas if Russel comes in to Mercedes next year. Will he take the Renault seat?

Bottas is another who is good but not brilliant. He suffers at Mercedes. Think it'd be good to see what he can do as a number 1. Think Renault would be a good move for him.

Very excited about this Alonso return materialising. Box office guy.

I don't overly like him though, so also happy that he'll be in an under performing car. Incredible driver though, so he should be able to pull some nice results out the bag.

2021 could look like:

Mercedes -Hamilton
Ferrari - LeClerc
Red Bull - Verstappen

McLaren - Ricciardo
Renault - Alonso
Racing Point/Aston Martin - Perez

Alfa Romeo - Raikkonen
Alpha Tauri- Gasly
Haas - Magnussen
Williams - Russell

These are some seriously fast no1 drivers in each team for 2021. All the drama that has gone on means 2020 = Vettel's final year, Ricciardo fallen out with his own team, could be Bottas' final chance at a title tilt etc... many others stories too. Can't wait for Austria.

Will Alonso come back? I don't know but he may think he has unfinished business.

He's definitely an A1 driver though. Along with Hamilton and Verstappen. LeClerc will probably get to that level too. As you say there's some seriously fast guys leading the teams next year.

If this season gets underway I'd love to see Bottas just go for it. I just don't think he has the talent for a full season tilt at the title. Reminds me of DC or Barrichello. Really good drivers but just lacking that killer instinct.
