I hope one day someone will defend me like guys on the internet will defend someone they don't know who's been accused of rape.

Think it's important to look at both sides, the obvious thing to do is brand the guy a rapist immediately because why would the poor women possibly make things up or distort the facts.
09-29-2018, 09:25 AM
The fact is we don't have a clue what happened, so assuming he's a rapist and assuming she's a gold digger are both pretty unpleasant things to do.
I tend to sympathise more with the accusers given how hard it is to get a conviction in a rape case, and because I've seen at first hand the impact being raped can have on a woman's life (or a man's for that matter, but the rape victim I know personally is a woman). Having said that, innocent until proven guilty still has to count for something. It's not an easy one, but you certainly aren't 'looking at both sides' if you immediately brush off the accusations as gold digging.

Surely if you settle out of court you can't then continue to go after him or whatever?
Don't really have an opinion on it, doubt she's lying especially since he's said “she said no and stop†but thought once the settlement goes through that's it? One for acey ![]()

You want to believe her, and there's nothing in that story that makes you think she's making it up either.
Hopefully she gets the closure she needs and he is punished if he is convicted by a jury of his peers.

And in his case, his fine was more than 20m euros; Messi (and I ain't defending him either: they're both tax dodging vermin) was fined 252,000 euros. According to you, this made Messi a cunt - whereas Ronaldo, fined almost 80 times more, is some kind of hero? ![]() But to business. What other multi-million euro tax dodger, who is on record stating that a woman he paid off said 'no' to anal sex several times, would be believed when denying rape allegations... and when his team of assorted hangers-on are behaving atrociously into the bargain? If this was, for example, Trump, would you be shooting the messenger there too? As for the 'mainstream media': she's given an interview, which has been set out in detail. Do you not believe the words of rape victims when published by the mainstream media, or something? ![]()
Just to ignore all of the irrelevant stuff in the post - I don't believe anything regarding this story. It is horrible and only 2 people know the truth. You sound smug over it though. I knew you'd bring Messi into it as if it's a game.

People don't get PTSD or become clinically depressed or have their lives destroyed as a result of consensual sex. His lawyers even insisted she never name him to her therapist FFS. Vile. Utterly vile. And what he paid her came from... a sponsor with an account in the British Virgin Islands. Top man, that Ronaldo. Real man of the people.

I didn't think there was smugness in your original post, Shaun - but looks like AP was spot on after all.
You seem to be quite excited about all this, I know you hate Alpha males and you seem to be quite pleased that Ronaldo has potentially raped a woman. It reminds me of how much you despised Zlatan because he made you feel less of a man. The response to hearing someone has been raped shouldn't be giddiness.

It's a brutal story, and one that I don't even think we know a fraction about yet. On first reading it, my first thought wasn't to use it as a point-scoring exercise against some internet cretins
![]() Considering your views on Paul Gascoigne over the years, it's maybe best to tone it down on this one until we hear more about it. |
