He's had a few other decent turns at right back earlier in the season too tbf.

It's very easy to dislike him just based on how he looks, all bug eyed and hunched shoulders. He looks more than a bit like Peter Lorre in M. But, so long as he's kept away from central midfield, he's shown more at right back than smith

He was excellent against Aberdeen at Murrayfield.

He was very good last night. Really liked how he was willing to drive forward as well. He also had a good game against the hun at ibrox when he broke up lots of their play. He's not glamorous, but some of our best times as hearts fans came with the archetypal unglamorous RB in Neilson who held that position for about a decade despite hearts splashing cash on players all over the shop. As long as a RB can defend well and get up and down the pitch, I'll be happy.

Is right back his natural position or just somewhere he's not conspicuously shite?

If he keeps playing well he deserves a run there but I think it would be better to develop Brandon in the long run than to shoehorn a pish EPL loanee who'll never make it at his parent club.

Agree with the Aberdeen and Rangers shouts too, think Murrayfield really suited him tbh.

I'm not really sure, would give him another few games at RB and see how he gets on. Not completely convinced yet but if he keeps it up I'd be fairly happy keeping him there.

I think he's always been a right back.  The problem was Cathro decided - for no clear reason - that he could be a midfielder instead.  He obviously saw what Guardiola had done with Lahm at Bayern Munich, converting him from RB to DM, and thought "I could do that".

So we've had a potential decent right back moonlighting in the middle of the park for the last few months.  Agree with others his game against Aberdeen - also at RB - was impressive.  As I said last night, it's amazing what happens when players get played in their correct position.

He was definitely brought in to play CM. Which I didn't get as he was a RB at Liverpool. Another bizarre decision. Thank god we had buaben in the background.

Think he's looked very good last 2 games, gets himself stuck into tackles, makes smart runs forward and can ping a crossfield pass GodIsGod

Sign him up IMO. Pretty sure he's available on a free.

Committed, versatile ( Levein ) and seems to have found his position. He's not a world beater, but he'll do enough whilst we bring the younger guys through.

Yeah if we can sign him I'd get him in.

Fairly poor start but seems to have settled in really well.

His poor start was mostly due to Cathro making up that the poor cunt was a centre midfielder. Must have been delighted when he got punted and Randall was eventually moved back to right-back.

Ask him if he wants to be our RB, for me. Sound enough, we get someone who's started playing and he gets regular first team football if he keeps up his form - that's more than he had before he came.

Some praise for him there. I do like the way he keeps a low profile and just does the job Pretty good

Does he look like a much better option than Brandon? Not sure he does.

If he was clearly better I'd say we should be signing him, but with regular football under Levein and alongside Berra at the back I think Brandon could develop into a better player. Delighted he's playing well but I've really liked what I've seen of Brandon and I hope we don't hinder his development.

We've got Smith and Brandon contracted. Randall's wage if we were to sign him on a permanent deal could probably be put to better use elsewhere.

Randall's grown on me, no faulting his effort and he's doing pretty well at right back.

I'd still rather develop our own player for the position though.
