The drop in oil prices is more to do with economic warfare than anything else. It isn't and won't be sustainable. Scotland's economy is actually pretty robust and sustainable without oil. If it wasn't, then why are similar/smaller countries with the same/less resources (Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland) better places to live?

This debate was always about where power was best placed to lie. Unfortunately, a majority was bullied and deceived into thinking that Scotland wasn't capable of sustaining itself and that we're better off at the whim of Hedge Funds and Private Equity groups, rather than governing ourselves fully. I realise this point may be beyond some, but we crossed the Rubicon thanks to the referendum; as Sir Tom Devine stated; this union is, has and will continue to dissolve.

Anyway, pointing to a drop in the price of oil and trying to use it as 'evidence' of how Scotland couldn't be independent, or how Yes Scotland/The SNP were 'lying' or anything similar just makes you look a bit ignorant, tbh.

Sums up very nicely why the Yes campaign turned a lot of people off. "If you disagree with me, you were bullied or manipulated" Laugh Shouting people down with that kind of line was prevalent during the campaign; utterly pathetic.

We were manipulated into voting based on something other than Salmond's conjecture and supposition. So uninformed and gullible, we were Sob

That people were threatened into a no vote isn't really contentious; better together calculated their entire campaign accordingly. It was effective with the elderly who were convinced we'd have no pensions or currency, despite this being utter nonsense. It's rare to hear people say they voted no because they considered themselves british (as the 2011 census showed, they are in the minority) instead it's typically folk insisting that Scotland would be worse off, without having any actual evidence. I suspect there's a wee bit of unconscious deference to the Etonian/Oxbridge cabal going on too.

It'll probably take the next round of cuts to public services, whilst millionaires and businesses continue to get wealthier, or the probable withdrawal from the EU for no voters to realise the gravity of their mistake. Failing that, give it ten years and the bulk of no voting pensioners won't be around to shite it again.

I'm really curious as to what no voters think will happen from now. That the nominal tax powers that we get will be enough and that we'll all disappear? Just look at the 79 referendum; in the coming years, I suspect more than a few no voters will be ashamed of what they did.

Thanks for letting me know when I've been bullied Patrick. I'm glad you are here to tell us all how stupid we are.

Simple fact is that it's far too early to say that voting either way was the "right" or "wrong" decision. Yes was always going to be a really hard sell for a lot of people, particularly those who considered that they had theirs.

I certainly don't think that the subservient among us who voted no are cowards - I just have zero respect for them.
