I meant that the part about it being part of a grand plan to facilitate privatisation was tinfoil FWIW, it's pretty much just objective fact that the BBC is a mouthpiece for the government at this point

Its a classic tactic though - an extension of the defund, then privatise tactic. I mean it is obviously more layered and nuanced but the ultimate end result of this will be what you suggest.
