Just got in a taxi. The guy could not have fucking coughed more. Just back from Turkey yesterday. Sound bud.

I saw someone sneeze with a face mask on in the supermarket earlier. They panicked and just went full on into the thing. Quite disgusting really, though their gasp for air shortly after probably meant they inhaled a lot of it again.

The world would be a far better place if he was president, simple as that.

There wouldn't be a Bernie Sanders thread on here giving us a good laugh though
ITK Poster.
Signed up for that Eat Out to Help Out thing today, fairly simple to do. Chucked it up on Facebook about 3o'clock today something like that.
So far today I've taken 28 bookings totalling 98 covers ![]() That on top of my VAT being reduced to 4.5% could be an absolute saviour like. I'm buzzing

Are most places just increasing prices rather than passing the VAT reduction on?

I'm not sure about other places but I've just kept my prices the same.
As far as I'm aware the VAT reduction was put in place to help businesses recoup some of their losses, and the eat out to help out is there to help the customer eat for a bit cheaper to counteract it.

Yeah that's good of them. It's probably easier for them if they're bringing in more cash.
I'm in a shitty situation where I had to be VAT registered straight away. Something to do with being a transfer of a going concern. The accountant explained to me what it meant at the time when I wasn't very happy about it. I paid a £4.4k VAT bill 2 weeks before lockdown and have a £2.2k bill deferred to March or something now. VAT is an absolute killer.

VAT a shame
![]() That's good news about the Eat Out scheme though.

Dunno if you can manage this, but look into getting a separate bank account for your VAT alone, and try to put 20% across to that account every week. Obviously not so much at moment with VAT reduction but having it separate is really useful, though I know it helps with cashflow, you then get killer VAT bills as you say.

I only stopped getting headaches a few weeks back. From late February to then I'd have four or five hours a day.

I appreciate we are trying to be as cautious as possible but this gym issue seems more ridiculous the longer it drags on. Can't seriously be saying we can sit in a boozer all weekend shoulder to shoulder with other households but clean, socially distanced gym floors aren't safe.

How clean are gyms with folk sweating all over everything indoors? :
Clearly the government don't trust enough folk to clean things up properly when they've used them. |
