Obviously Twitter is a cesspit, but even taking that into consideration the stuff I've been reading on there the last few days is wild. It's the sheer volume of nastiness thats stopped me in my tracks. Definitely gotten significantly worse in the last 6 months to a year. The amount of people handwaving away tens of thousands of covid deaths because they had underlying conditions

Saw a disabled woman say that she felt like her life was being viewed as having less value because of it. Almost every reply tearing into her, calling her selfish, telling her to stay indoors and let the rest of us live our lives, your health isn't my responsibility etc. She'd said “I deserve to live out my life” in her post and cunts were replying saying “I deserve, me me me. You deserve nothing”. Fucking hell

Folks' heads are completely gone likes.

I've never had any issues. Given blood maybe a dozen times and had a couple of tetanus shots but the kids have been awful. Before they were born the wife was a support nurse in a health visitor team so she did all the immunisations and pre school jabs etc and twice has had to speak up to the nurses at our GP's for being so rough with our two. It's a wonder they're not scarred for life

Aye. bit of a mixed bag for us too. Had to have blood taken a good few times during that treatment for TB. My daughter also had the treatment though in her case it lasted longer over 9 months. Initial blood taking was horrendous for her especially, and I was hardly helping I guess. having to hold her still while she's screaming. Eventually the nurse called it quits and said she's get somebody else to do it after a break, although as you say pretty traumatic for the wee one. Tbf she's been fine with subsequent needles.

Agree with this. The place is a total cesspit and so many people are just completely lacking in empathy of any kind.

Social media has done so much damage to society. At first it was all a laugh because no one cares what you had for dinner but now it's just such an easy place for certain folk to log on, cause division and really hurt people.

I don't think we'll ever really be able to deal with social media properly and it's been a revolution but in all the worst ways.

I can't stand it like, I'm a dinosaur with social media and that because I refuse to get involved in it. Probably fucked me a wee bit because birds and that find it quite strange when I inform them I'm not on all these social media things but honestly I can't stomach it.

The way people word things like they are fucking robots does my nut in too, I see it with my sister and that and think why are you talking like that when you would never speak like that in real life. does my head in like.

Like everything it has positives and negatives but the negatives can be pretty severe. I am doing the best to reign in how I act online as have been an arsehole not even thinking there is a real person on the end of the usernames.

I have said some nasty stuff because I have felt bad about my own situation or whatever and taken it out on people I have nae clue who they are or what they've got going on. There's more to it than that though, like all the subconscious stuff with young folk particularly lassies worrying about things like body image etc.

It just got too big and significant to our lives too fast.

It has definitely changed the world for the worse, it has a knock on effect to absolutely everything. Football included, I blame social media for VAR and that, the more people you give a platform for them to have their say and be heard the worse the world is.

Agree with all these posts but also think the damage has been done and its here to stay. The world wasn't ready for the general public and corporations to take over the internet so quickly.

Twitter is a good news source so I have mine set up for that but I've never tweeted and try never to read any replies to tweets
