The numbers *are* that high, I believe - it's the international comparisons that aren't particularly useful. No idea if there is any backlog, but given that testing has been maintained to a large extent and the numbers have continued to rise after that huge jump yesterday, I'd suspect not too much of one.

Aye, I meant how there could be such a jump between the UK and France/Germany. Our numbers are sadly definitely accurate.

Given it doesn't need to be stored at minus 70, fingers crossed this means we can get the jag at drive through centres like the testing. That would be amazing - just wonder how efficient this government will be at rolling it out.

We really need to just start firing that out at mental speeds regardless of the cost.

Temporary centres should be set up round the country, get the army trained to administer it and have appointments for people 7am - 11pm.

Interesting that they believe one dose is strong enough to keep anyone out of hospital so they've increased the time between doses to 3 months.

This means 20 million people should be given one dose by spring.

Some good news at last man. January is going to be brutal but we should be able to start making progress rapidly.

Won't gloat about a man losing family members but I hope he changes his fucking stupid attitude having had it happen to him.

No sympathy towards a man who in his position publicly undermined the guidance and severity of the virus, saying complacent workers should get back to the office.

It's sad that people continue to die but in all honesty can't say I feel sorry for him specifically at all.  How many people will have bought into what he and others like him have said and passed the virus onto people who have went on to die because of it?

People are going to make mistakes but what he was saying because he was worried about his businesses is unforgivable.

Universal parks in Orlando yesterday  Warnock they just don't give the first fuck over there do they. supposedly rides are working on reduced capacity but the parks aren't, so they're hitting capacity at about 8am and got massive queues everywhere all day

After seeing the Liverpool journal article on inaccuracy of pcr tests I try and focus mainly on hospitalisation numbers. How are we looking regarding that?
