Hearts manager Robbie Neilson: "I thought we battered them the whole game. We just couldn't get the goal. And then we lose the penalty from a bad decision at a key moment, for the referee. We have to take it on the chin but if we don't put it in the back of the net we won't win football matches."
Somebody needs to tell Robbie that we were playing an Alloa team that has never beaten us in their entire existence.
An Alloa team that probably couldn't afford to pay the wages for one of our players.

We played 53 minutes on Tuesday (not including any injury time either half) plus 2 hrs today so with injury time over 3 hrs of football without scoring one fucking goal against Alloa Athletic. A team of part time players who made no changes in the 90 minutes today and who putting any footballing ability aside should have been run off the park and totally dominated.
And now we have the inevitable bullshit from Neilson when if he was any kind of leader and someone who demanded standards he would have savaged the entire team and squad. It was the perfect opportunity to say things like "there will be big change coming throughout my team after that result", "it is totally below the level that is acceptable anytime a player is privileged enough to pull on the maroon shirt", "Hearts supporters deserve way way more than that performance and no player is safe, playing for a club like Hearts means turning up week in week out not when it suits you". There are so many things he could have said to at least pretend it matters and yet we get the same effort levels from him post match as we witness from the team almost anytime they leave the confines of Tynecastle.
But the sad thing is this is what we are now. We don't have that drive or ambition or passion there is nobody who cares enough. Whilst there is no point arguing whether Stendel needed more time or otherwise or whether he deserved that the reason I backed and supported him was that he was something different, a breath of fresh air, someone not afraid of trying a new approach. Forget him, the point is that here we are with fucking Neilson as our manager again, a guy who wasn't good enough last time and a club simply sleep walking its way through yet another season. The people who run the club aspire to nothing and that's exactly what they have made us.

It's one of those results where you have to go through them so the fans can see it though. Saying we battered them is embarrassing and just a complete lie.

Aye but having control of the ball at the half way line is no where near battering them. Just don't say that when Alloa have beat us. Congratulate them, slaughter the players and move on.
