Can't remember if I posted similarly after Thursday's game but anyway I made a note to focus on him during the game, and as I figured, NC seems to have 'coached' him (without the ball) to focus on anticipating where the ball is headed (seems obvious but it's not easy to do in the middle of the park). He seems to be primed to snarl in as he's typically within a 5-7m radius of the ball. When eh can't directly influence the ball he typically operates in a box about 20m squared in and around the middle of the park.
Of course this sort of break-up play has always been his bread n butter but he seems to have elevated another level. Saying all that, as I mentioned in another trhead I thought we were dominated in the middle of the park for good spells yesterday, as was the case on Thursday vs the Moldovan Sunday league team. Whether it be devlin and Boateng/Beni it's often not enough to asset ourselves, and lets face it the last two teams we've faced have been generally rank. I don't need to comment about his use of the ball. Overall though he's doing what's he been asked and doing it very well.

At Tynecastle we need to control the football, we seemed to have banned the idea of playing Beni and Boeteng together. These are two of the best players in the squad, if they are both available, fucking play them. Anyway, The Critch threw both our central midfielders under the bus so I'm not going to go in on Cammy. He'll get adored for his headless chicken stuff but moving into January lets sign some footballers and get motoring up the league.

Not the game for Devlin yesterday if you’re playing only 2 in midfield. Playing a slack pass and getting a booking trying to chase it down was an absolute NAP.

Unfortunately, we can't afford to have players who can only play in certain games.
I honestly think we're just making excuses for him now. His best games was against St Johnstone, who are bottom of the league. Fair play to Acey for predicting the win.

He's a lots of laughs smiley banter boy to have around, but i don't get the wanking over him because he does tackles.
Tony will get us someone who does tackles and also plays football.

Have to say I’ve never been a fan but he’s upped his game considerably this year. Obviously enjoys playing for Del. Wouldn’t be worried in the slightest about replacing him though.

His fellow Aussie was giving him dogs abuse in the derby for not being able to play a pass forward, or run with the ball. and there's a reason he can't get game for the national team.

He's been brilliant, Del loves him as well so I expect him to pen a new contract and be here for a few years to come.
