Just noticed I’d got a teams message from my boss at 1.55am saying Good Morning Sunshine! (He’s in Houston)

I’d missed it because I’d dozed off on the sofa and woke up at kick off realising the alarm Id set on my phone was 1.50pm   Warnock

I genuinely thought this is the time we are going to play well and beat someone with a bit of ease and class, oh how wrong was I.

I hope to fuck that's not our only goal this tournament, another scuffed own goal effort being the only highlight again would be so miserable.

How bad were we? Eek

Some buzz of scoring at a World Cup but we were absolute dug meat. Shankland looking stinking when it’s a step up from Bolivia and Curacao

I've slept on it, and I'm still annoyed at how bad we were Laugh

The idea of us 'going for it' was a lie. Shankland spent most of the game trying to win the ball back just outside our box. We tried everything to bypass the midfield, which is our strongest position. Haiti were targeting Ferguson in the first half because he is piss-weak in the challenge, then targeted Hickey in the second half for refusing to get within 5 yards of the wingers. Clearly that is what Clarke wanted seeing as Patterson came on and did the exact same thing.

Clarke will have been delighted that Shankland and Adams never got any chances so that he can revert to type and start Dykes against Morocco.

The atmosphere sounded amazing, at least. The scenes at full time would have been something else.

Ferguson is honestly fucking terrible, if he didn't have 'gits a gemme in the serie A' behind him everyone would agree he's fucking murder.

I genuinely don't care how it was done, we won the game. We'll play 4-5-1 in the next 2 which will suit us better, the 4-4-2 didn't work, and we generally play better against the better teams anyway. A point will do, a win would be magic.

He's not even a regular starter for Bologna any more. We waited until he got a major injury and came back a shell of his former self before deciding to use him more. A good few of the players were blowing smoke up his arse in 28 Summers, so he must be a character in the dressing room or something

He's one of they players that will willingly do all the shite stuff that nobody else wants to do, he's obviously settled on a career of being a dogsbody footballer so team mates probably do appreciate it but he's torture to watch.

Thought he was the most effective I’ve seen him for Scotland last night tbf but just at breaking things up, he’s terrible on the ball. Sorry to the 40+ James Richardson fanboy bores but Serie A is a poor, poor league.

We’ve got two midfielders who play week in, week out in the Premier League - Christie didn’t even start last night and when he does play he’s always out of position, and McGinn is nowhere near as effective off the left. Need to play to these guys’ strengths.

I think we needed lewis Ferguson that game tbh. We weren’t at it and Haiti were big boys.

That 10 minute or so spell where we’d taken Doak and Adams off, and hadn’t put Curtis on yet Tony You What Some tactic trying to soak up pressure and counter when you’ve got 11 slugs on the pitch Laugh

Every so often the commentators trying to convince themselves that 'we knew this, we knew Haiti are a good team' like they do every time we're crap at a tournament Warnock

This was as easy a game as we could've had. We might raise our game against the bigger sides (although Germany at the last Euros would suggest we don't 'always' do that), but that was a terrible performance Warnock

I know you don't really expect much with Scotland at a World Cup, it's more about the atmosphere and so on, and I'd love to have been in Scotland yesterday to get the proper experience. That performance was so frustrating, though. Just very lackadaiscal all game, giving Haiti all the time on the ball they wanted, only to then start jumping around and performing 'passion' the second the final whistle went. At a very generous intepretation, maybe Clarke didn't want them expending too much energy in the heat, but every time we got the ball it was a few sluggish passes around the back or a hoof up the park, then whenever Haiti got it it took about two passes to cut out most of our defence.

Felt like a proper Clarkey Scotland team that, 4-5-1, zero pace in the side, nobody who can carry the ball up the pitch and getting pinned in by a pub team.

He probably actually enjoyed it for a moment.

Aye, 'better teams' like Denmark and Serbia. Radical optimism thinking Brazil and Morocco will be anything but games where we get our clocks cleaned.
