SNP got lucky in some Aberdeen consituencies. Your oil and gas/fermer boys split their vote between Tory and Reform and SNP were able to hold.
Banffshire especially. Reform were a gift to SNP this election and it gives the SNP a clear enemy to rip the pish out of while in office too. Big indy opportunity here if these folk genuinely want it.

Same old shit will happen, your vote doesn't matter.
You're made to think you matter, but at the end of the day, you're just a wee arsehole.

Have reform taken many constituencies or is it mostly off the list?

Are the SNP not a bit fucked here about their mandate for Indy2 since they didn’t deliver a majority?
Obv they’ll still make government with another pro Indy party but was that what was said? I thought Swinney was explicit about an SNP majority. Reform Scotlands 2nd party Horrendous one for Labour and Tories.

It is unconvincing tbh. Could have a pro independence majority with the greens though.
I really don’t think there’s an appetite for it at the moment. This was more you are the least terrible out of the options available than anything else.

I probs wouldn’t have voted for them if I thought there was a better option tbh but would just be the greens and don’t fancy them at all. I want to vote for a proper working persons party but it genuinely probably is the communists at that point
![]() No even sure I’d 100% vote for Indy tomorrow if it was the same as last time, if they don’t have better answers to some huge questions then they have no chance and it can’t just be wishy washy. I don’t think there was enough made about indy2 either, don’t think majority of folk even knew it was on the table with this election. The launch of it at the time was a total non event.

Also where was the green wave
![]() They have come absolutely fucking nae where down south.

The Scottish Parliament was set up to ensure a majority is never delivered. This has only happened once in 2011. It’s almost impossible with d’hondt. Bbc leading with “they didn’t get a majority” line is blatant propaganda and you need to be able to spot it when you see it.
Yesterday was the most pro-indy MSPs ever returned to the Scottish Parliament. This includes 58 SNP after 20 years of continuous government. It’s unprecedented in global mainstream politics and the only explanation for that type of return is because of a broader, enduring desire for independence rather than party performance But the main reason ‘the appetite’ doesn’t feel strong is because people are depressed and weary. weary from Sturgeon promising referendums that never materialised, all smoke and mirrors to protect her ‘brand’ that came crashing down and created a leadership vacuum within the political arm of indy and her sycophants that derailed SNP Democratic Party processes. People are disillusioned by the SNP and the indy movement that was co-opted by them. And still, the polling for an independent Scotland has never been higher. The answer to this isn’t to continue to further take the wind out of indy - it’s to re-energise the cause if not yesterday then today. I actually despair at folk like you guys. Social and political movements come in cycles and they don’t just emerge out of thin air, you have to actualise them. Stop moping allowing yourselves to be controlled by narratives and start setting the narrative. Polanski has managed to energise wank liberals in England within 6 months, reform has captured England in two years. The tide can change in an instant so be ready….bunch of (weather) cocks man. The urgent task is to undo Sturgeon’s damage and within weeks breathe fire into political indy again. The first step is to take advantage of the power vaccuum in Westminster when Starmer steps down and to work with the three other indy nations. If Northern Ireland get a border poll this term, then why shouldn’t we?

Don’t think the appetite isn’t there just because of sturgeon it’s because folk seen what happened with Brexit.
Excuse me if I don’t want another version of that for Scotland.
