I was just highlighting the obvious inconsistency between the desire to abolish inheritance tax, and the desire to abolish someone's life savings.

In answer to that question, you say that as if a property of six figures is in the realms of the mega wealthy. Take the example of someone with a house worth £150,000, that is hardly in the league of the super wealthy, given the average house price is £216,000. So this is a policy which will hammer the less well off, as come the end, it will have eaten up a much higher percentage of the inheritance to be passed down to the family, than that of a wealthier person. Take £50,000 of care off an estate of £1M and the family lose 5%, while the family reduced to £100,000 lose 33%. It's regressive. It is totally at odds with the bullshit "meritocracy" that May claims she wants, as her policies clearly target the less well off and thus put obstacles on them achieving based on "merit." It's like her work out of poverty line, when the working poor are into their many millions.

It's morally repugnant to ask the elderly and schoolchildren to pay for the fallout from the banks throwing a pipebomb underneath the global financial sector.

They were bailed out when they would've otherwise failed and now it's time for them to repay us by significantly contributing to the country's social care. They won't though because they will fuck off to the Cayman islands, Puerto Rico or Papa New fucking Guinea for all we know, if there is even a hint that they should compensate responsible citizenry who looked after their finances while they were chasing the quickest buck and getting out of dodge.

All this policy will do is encourage parents to transfer their houses to children or other family members/trusts and grant themselves a life rent.
