Witty post aside, do you genuinely have a problem with americanisms?

Language should be free to breathe and develop, so i wouldn't want it to be stifled. But its charm is in its difference, so i'd say i have an issue with homogeneity. And americanisms are the greatest cause of that. In terms of AP's error, couldnt give a fuck whether we go on spell it with a c or an s in 50yrs time, or even particularly now. It was just an excuse to be witty as fuck about the immigration of ideas.

I agree with the immigration too. Just goes to show how different England and Scotland are when it's genuinely hard to fathom the seethe and ignorance spouted by cretins in Jaywick,  and the extent to which pretty much all of the major parties pander to them.

If only we'd had a chance to do something about that.

One of the reasons people take issue with immigration is the idea it erodes public services, especially the NHS actually.

I just think the immigration problems in england and scotland are way different and we'll probably never experience what they have.

They've got huge densely populated areas of certain minorities.  There should be more of an effort to try and spread immigrants throughout the country.  I'm not saying  pakistanis shouldn't be allowed to move to Bradford or that, but i just think it would help the whole 'us and them' attitude that seems to be the case down south.

Bradford is the first example that came to my head.

I think a big problem down south is the different societies don't tend to integrate. It's not a criticism of one group of people in general, people just tend to stick to what they know but in that you create these boundaries set by ethnicity/country of origin etc. Travelling through London you'll go through jewish areas, black areas, muslim areas etc etc

I think more should be done to encourage immigrants to spread to other parts of the country, and not just have these hot spots.

Scotland doesn't have that problem at all. Sure there are certain areas that may have a bit more of one set of people but nowhere near the scale of some places in England.

If people start to integrate and learn about each others cultures I reckon this whole ''massive problem'' with immigration thing would begin to go away. Think the majority of people just have underlying racist opinions that come out with that sort of stuff. IMO
