Will be interesting to see how women's MMA develops over the next few years. At the moment it still seems to be where men's MMA was a few years back: all the top fighters have a clearly-defined background with no products of pure MMA that I know of. Its rise in popularity (attributable largely to Rousey) will probably see that coming to an end over the next few years.

Tbf to Rousey she has worked on her striking, but coming from strictly a judo background she'll never be able to stand and trade with a high-level striker (just like a high-level striker won't be able to match her judo).

No. I've sparred with fairly high-level female fighters before and had my arse handed to me.
