I genuinely don't believe that for a minute.

They mightve not looked decent at 5s in the park but you need to have something special to get a sniff at pro or semi pro football.

I have 2 or 3 mates who failed pro youth systems and they are unbelievably good compared to me or you.

Even cunts playing for Spartans and that are a cut above your average Joe.

Nice to see you're rating me through the medium of internet they weren't terrible players, i'm just saying they weren't standouts, i've got a mate who was at Elgin now at Berwick rangers who was just as good as the rest of us, actually didn't get much of a game in the team i was at but he was well dedicated and determined, didn't drink, smoke etc wasn't any better than me.

I've played at a decent level with a lot of pro youth boys. The ones that made it to senior football were a cut above from an early age. Anyone that can't recognise that is usually either jealous or deluded about their own ability. Think I've said before on here but I played against Jason Holt when he was 2 years younger than the rest of us and nobody could get near him.

The shocking thing is you have no idea how much of a chronic liar you are. You're a fantasist and that's not internet hyperbole; you tell yourself these things and really will believe them. If i found out you were gluing jigsaws to the wall I wouldn't doubt it.

The difference between folk who've played to a decent level and your punter off the street is stunning.

I genuinely was but ended up back playing boys club football, i never had the attitude to make it as a pro or semi pro, too interested in getting steaming with my mates at the weekend, like so many.

Think that's a huge problem with youth football in Scotland tbf. I know a lot of really talented guys who panned it for birds and the drink.

There was another one as well and Aberdeen basically told him he had to pie his education after his standard grades and go full time. He told him he wanted to stay on and get his highers/adv highers and they effectively sacked him. He was in the team Fyvie was in when he was younger. Apparently Fyvie was always a standout.

This. I played at the same club as Balatoni for a couple of years and he was head and shoulders above anyone else there, even at different age groups. Scored 4 or 5 in a pre-season bounce match against us from centre midfield

Guy my wee brother played with is still on the books at Hibs, think he's played for the first team a couple times. You're deluding yourself if you say these guys don't stand out even at 12 or 13.
