I would say, all :LizzieYay: aside, that there's nothing wrong with choosing not to stand for your own anthem if you wish to make a legitimate statement. If it's someone else's then it's only decent to respect their anthem.

But, by a similar token, it's absurd that god save the queen was played at an NFL game in London. It's their custom to play their anthem at their games, it's twee nonsense to transfer it wholesale to another culture.
