Being called a football hipster from the poster that hangs onto the Guardian's every word

Lazio have achieved essentially nothing since 2000. The last six seasons in England, the title has gone like this: Man City / Man Utd / Man City / Chelsea / Leicester / Chelsea - with both Liverpool and Spurs going mighty close in that time. That's hardly fantastic, but it's better than what the other major leagues can offer in terms of competition. The last six seasons in Italy, it's been: Juventus by 4 points / Juventus by 9 points / Juventus by 17 points / Juventus by 17 points / Juventus by 9 points / Juventus by 4 points (which might at least suggest their reign is coming to an end, I suppose). Napoli and Roma, Juve's only rivals since 2012, haven't been credible rivals at all. In other words, like Germany and, for all but last season, France, it's been awfully close to a multi-billionaire's SPL. But if everyone knows who's going to win the league before a ball's even kicked, what's the point?

If there's a football hipster choice, it's the Bundesliga. Serie A, whilst enjoyable, has a sentimental appreciation for those who watched in on Channel 4 in the 90's.

As Scots we know only too well there is more to a league than who wins it.

Don't bother finishing the stand, throw away your season books and shut down the forum, guys. Lawson says it's all pointless.

When I watched the Milan derby tonight, I didn't once think about Juve

It's rare that I'll watch a foreign league tbh, don't think Serie A or La Liga is any less boring than quite a lot of EPL games.
I genuinely do enjoy the Championship, particularly the end of the season scramble for play-off spots and the play-offs themselves.

Over the last couple of seasons Napoli have been quality to watch, I hope they win the league to get the recognition but their games are always entertaining.

Already covered, Juve winning the league doesn't detract from a Rome/Milan Derby it Napoli game against any of those teams, Fiorentina, Samp, Torino all good teams with great history. Quite sad that someone with such an alleged knowledge of the game boils down their opinion on a league on who wins the title rather than the quality of the games throughout the season

Don't have a fav league, I do have games or teams I'm more likely to watch than others. The predictability of the outcome of Spanish league doesn't bother me, not so fussed about who wins it, it's the way they get there. Have always found the epl sterile, so many dull sides producing dull matches without a spark of originality or class, the 'best league in the world' moniker is laughable - compare mid-table epl sides to mid-table La Liga sides.... well the English sides just aren't in the same league ye might say. The Championship? Brutal football. The media side around the EPL is equally dulling as it's so humourless, just takes itself far too seriously - a career for the bang average.

I still like watching German football. They have the best mix of technical ability and speed of attack for me. There's no doubting the quality of Spanish football, but I get a bit bored watching it sometimes.
Italian football used to be incredible given how good the defences and attacks were. You didn't mind how defensive it was at times because some of the attacking was also so good. Now it doesn't have the same quality going forward to balance things out. English football was brilliant to watch in the late 90s/early 00s. There's nowhere near the quality now, despite all the money.

The English teams definitely look set up better to compete this year. Wouldn't be surprised to see the winner for that lot.

Man Citeh look like they could win it, but it's early in the season yet. They do have a strong squad tho so may be able to keep form for a long time. Spurs also looking good but the squad's not as deep, and besides it's Spurs - they don't win stuff do they. After that nah, don't see a winner from the sassenachs.
