Interesting to see the stance the press take on this when it is revealed the shooter(s) is a right wing lunatic.

Photo of him as a smiling bairn on the front page and phrases like "mental illness" and "so much potential" if he's white and it's over here. Although I don't know if the German tabloids are as openly racist and right-wing as ours

All it took was the new Joker film to get the Nazi Germany thing back on track.

I know prison isn't a punishment and it's all about what sort of threat you pose but this is a joke imo. https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/n...nce-649336

Nahh, it's simply a tragic accident/mistake, and easily done tbqh. I did something similar on Vancouver Island between Tofino and Ucluelet - pulled off left onto a side road to take a break or check the map, then pulled back onto the road onto the left side of the road. Not til I came over the brow of a small hill did I think something was odd when I saw a massive logging truck heading straight for me with lights flashing high beams (this was during the day too). You can't simply jail someone for making an honest mistake. It's a terrible thing to happen (to this lady and the 19 motorcyclist) but there's no point in ruining someone elses life over it. Shit happens! It's shit! But Unfortunately it happens.

Tbf that was also, objectively, a terrible thing to happen, which she'll have to live with the rest of her life.

See the 'no parking on pavements' part of the bill - has anyone seen if there are exceptions planned? Some city areas will be fucked if they dont allow it.
This is where I used to park in shawlands, no way you can stop folk doing that or it will be carnage. This is all residential as well so it's not like it's going to improve public transport use. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Walt...-4.2825739

Pressing ahead with this while cancelling bus routes and having the trains in the state they are
shameless.

It's about £5 return in Glasgow, just checked and it's £6.30 if you go across two zones (i.e. come in from the schemes on the east for instance). ![]() Got a great train network here, but the subway, trains and buses are all separate networks. Train still the best option, £2.80 return for me. But sometimes get dropped off by the wife at the subway on way into work, if I then get a train home it's still pricey as you're paying for a subway single then a return train ticket. Daft. Should all be one oyster type card and work off one pricing system.

I work in the west so public transport isn't an option unless I want a 2hr commute compared to a 25min drive.
Would also cost me £200pm extra compared to fuel |
