Pretty sure I posted asking Scott about his lack of membership.
Edit: Found it in another thread.

Don't think it would bother me that much but don't really have that problem with my gf.
She actually just drinks all the time which i find weird tho like... drinking in the house on random nights. She'll just randomly have a glass of wine or a bottle of cider or something whilst watching tv. I just can't do that, only drink when i'm going out.

Been sober 60 days now.

I'm the same, rarely drink in the house and only if I'm doing something or going somewhere. Used to drink every night in my early twenties and it was getting out of hand so just knocked it on the head. Never drink at all if I'm working the next day now.

I'm the same, a pure Broken Britain cunt who only drinks to excess on nights out. I wouldn't really think of opening a bottle of beer in the house of a weeknight. Very occasionally I might have a couple of glasses of wine on a Friday night if I'm doing a bit of work in front of the telly but that's once in a blue moon stuff. Don't really see the point tbh. I realise that is not a healthy relationship with alcohol, even though it means I only drink 2 or 3 times a month

Loads of folk wind down after work with a drink. If she's getting steamin mind that's a bit odd. I mean teetotalers obviously. The date I had with this bird was weird as we went for a meal and I'm having a few beers and she's sipping coke. Moved to a bar after and again I've got a beer and she's on the water. Just made me feel self conscious about getting tipsy when she's stone cold sober. Couldn't imagine going on nights out with a bird and my pals and we're all drinking and she's not. Ever. I don't judge those that don't drink, I'm not sitting sneering at them for it, I'd just rather be in the company of someone who's on the same wavelength as me when it comes to alcohol.

Na not getting drunk just as you say having a few glasses/bottles.
It's just not for me I enjoy going out and drinking, in the house not so much. As I said not too sure if it'd bother me but then at the same time don't think I can really imagine going out with my bird and her being stone cold sober and me getting bevvied. It's happened before when she's not being able to drink due to medication and it just gets a bit awkward later in the night. End up going home because it's just not as good. But then that's just because we're both used to having a drink and a good time. I think if she turned round tomorrow and said she was going to be tee total it'd be fine, but not sure how it would've been if I was just meeting her Just let go of that tinder match mate, your next ride is only a swipe away.

Read Roger's: "I dont think I'd like it if I was drinking and she wasn't" reasoning for "if she doesn't drink she clearly won't condone/tolerate my drug problem".
Don't mean to be harsh but them's the truth bullets.

A good insight into the raging alcoholism that's all over this thread. I'm the same tbh tbf, don't really drink in the house or on my own but when I'm out I binge like fuck and regret it in the morning, like today
Birds that don't drink are weird though, I don't want to be going out with someone that's sober and can remember everything from nights out.

Getting to know someone is a bit of a nervy thing unless you're as smooth as Don Draper (the mad men character), or Scott Jambo (the talkhearts poster). Going out for a bevy is a tried and tested way to take the edge off and get to know a bird. Fairly standard date that. Second to maybe "eating and drinking". When your date isn't drinking, and you are, it instantly puts you on the back foot. Instead of having a drink and a good time you worry about how many drinks you're having, how drunk you'll get, and how much of a tit you're going to make of yourself in front of this sober bird. It just, as you say, makes it awkward as the night goes on, especially with a stranger. (06-06-2015, 10:19 AM)S.J. I don't think lassies go from being against weed to being for weed after a couple of gins, Scott. They're not as fickle as you. You could have gone for anything else, and you chose "drug problem"?
