Hickey is one of the most comfortable with both feet I can remember at Hearts. Good understanding of the game as well. He'd have no issues switching sides.

Need someone wi a bit eh dig
Our next games as far as I know are the euros and Clark isn't going to go for any wildcards that haven't been in before. he's not that type of manager, he will be loyal to players even if they're playing fucking shite at club level.

Just announced that we have friendlies against Luxembourg and Holland before the tournament

Or he could use it to prepare his starting 11 for the euros? I know we are not used to tournament football, but warm up games are a thing.

I think Clarke has said there is still a chance to get in the squad. Probs just a line for the cameras. Don't think young wildcards, who haven't had a cap, have much of an impact at tournaments. Look at that Portugal team that won last time, experienced back line won it for them.

Turnbull is the only one I think who's got a chance of getting in because he's at the Tims.

He's just selected Adams even though he wasn't involved before because he's better than what we have which slides McBurnie down the pecking order despite his involvement before because he's shite. He also brought Hanley in from the cold based on his club form and dropped Gallagher who has been poor for Motherwell. And Hendry too.

aye I know I'm talking between now and the euros.

We've got two games to prepare for our first major tournament in a generation. In some senses the Luxembourg and Netherlands games are arguably more important than the remaining qualifiers tbh. Got to be ruthless here and see it as the time to nail down the starting XI for the first group game, not who gets the 22nd or 23rd slots in the squad IMO.

In an idea world you'd like to give some of these in good form/promising youngsters a chance to show what they can do but that is maybe something that happens if you are consistently at tournaments and a bit more organised.
Main priorities for these games are probably seeing who Adams links with best and who's going to be our CB's.

I get the sense that Clarke understands the importance of confidence and belief that players can have for one another, particularly at international level where you only get limited time to work with players. He's not taking a punt on Turnbull yet and trusts McLean more to follow his gameplan when required upon to play. Not saying that's right or wrong but I get it.
