They’ve not had a meeting since the start of December so it’s not hard to see why the ideas aren’t flowing.
Not a dig at the volunteers but highlights the need for full time paid staff.

Half way through this podcast. I’m cringing listening to this and feel like turning it off as it’s too awkward

Turned it off. Can’t listen to them anymore.
I’ll be kind and say that it’s early days and this was a probably not the best time to interview as they knew nothing about internal activities of FOH beyond the last couple of weeks. Currently they see that their role is to manage the fans and instrumentally create initiatives that will make them love Budge n Co again. They do not see themselves as representatives of the fans and getting the fans re-engaged through developing circumstances where fans have real democratic power. They are the new middle managers. One of the individuals was very comfortable with corporate speak to “ensure that both parties can come together” nothing about how conflict and constructive dissensus is necessary for optimal decision making. All about ways to appease the problematic fans while business continues as usual.

Their clear contempt for the support isn't ideal when the model is basically give us money since you are a Hearts fan.

It all made sense to me when I heard one of them say they run their own recruitment agency. 99% of that being success or failure is networking. To do this a lot of senior recruiters (nearly all of them) join boards of trustees, charities, enterprises etc.. to make new contacts and be in situations where they come across hiring managers, owners of companies etc… this is a huge opportunity to grow their business on a personal level.
It’s crystal clear to me anyway that no feathers will be getting ruffled after securing this gig.

I felt Claire answered as you expect but can’t lie every time lockey spoke I just keep thinking why are you in this position
![]() “We’re no going to get everything right and we might no be the best that people want but we’ve volunteered, we’ve put our heads above the parapet”. What is this attitude man? You’re no running a wee daft local charity, it brings in over 100k a month and a mili a year ffs ![]() I get that he’s talking in regards to taking personal abuse which is fair enough it should never get to that stage but it shows the way it is viewed bigger picture as well. I love gary Locke I’m glad he does his ambassador role and he’s done plenty for the club but personally don’t feel he should be involved with this. It’s no something you just need to be brave with and have a go at, you need to ken what you’re doing there is far too much of the fans money flowing through it. But then again the club routinely takes the fans money for granted imo so it’s maybe not a surprise that’s reflected in club employees as well.

Can you imagine what budgey, McKinley, Mallon and the rest of them say about us behind closed doors?

Your direct debit is going towards putting boards up at Riccarton, so that dog walkers can't leak the team
![]() How the hell can you predict the starting lineup from watching 5 minutes of training? Even if you stood there for an hour

Well, the starting 11 will all be in the same coloured bibs when they do shape, so it wouldn't be difficult.

A Hearts fan, lives near Oriam, goes to walk his dog and wants to watch the squad train. He sees them doing shaping and says to his mate ‘here is the starting lineup’. Before you know it, the team has gone around and ends up on social media. It’s not difficult to figure out. How do you think we knew the Hibs lineup days before the Scottish Cup Final in 2012?

Players cover their hands when talking on the pitch so as to avoid lip readers. Of course clubs will use scouts to observe opposition training where possible.
Industrial espionage in a game worth millions isn't far fetched.

What do you think scouts are paid to do? St Mirren scouts don’t just look for players and won’t be doing that the week of our cup game.
