Getting in the mood for next season by watching Galatasaray v Liverpool in the Champions League.

We're gonna have to invest big to raise our standards in a competition where Celtic, even with a decent team, regularly get outclassed. And in lesser European competitions the same has happened to decent Hearts teams.

Never gonna progress too far in the Champions League, but even a wee bit further than just giving up is worth a lot of money back into the Hearts bank account. Plus raises the profile of our club, the value of our players and so on.

Wonder if we'll see 2m or 3m players arrive in the summer. Especially if likely we sell Kyziridis and Braga and can bring in 10m-12m for the pair to reinvest.

Feel like every single week we say this now but this weekend really feels pivotal.

If we can manage to get a win with Dundee at home next week and either of those two drop points, we will be overwhelming favourites for the league.

Alternatively, drop points and Celtic win and they are within touching distance with us still to go to Parkhead.

I can’t see Celtic winning tomorrow, don’t know what the situation is with McGregor but if he doesn’t play tomorrow Motherwell will dismantle their midfield as he’s the only one who can hold it together
