Some decent racing between Hamilton and Raikkonen. Showing Vettel how to go wheel to wheel. Monty Smug

So Australia tomorrow.

Hamilton on pole as usual. Looks like another season for Mercedes.

Kubica looked way off the pace today. Last and by more than a second from his rookie teammate. Must be difficult with his handicap though.

Hopefully a decent race tomorrow. Often carnage in Melbourne.

Were Mercedes sandbagging for all of pre-season?

Seemed competitive for Q1 and Q2 yesterday. The boy Norris MyMan

Where did Norris finish? 8th? Superb for a rookie in that car. Sound

Looks like Merc were sandbagging eh?

Wasn't the race I expected there. Nice to see Hamilton soundly beaten by his teammate.

Quite liked everyone going for fastest lap too.

Something about Finnish racers. They have an inner strength they can pull on, even when everyone writes them off.

Got to feel for Leclerc there. Car let him down but saved a podium with the safety car.

Just watched the Canadian GP. What a fucking shambles that penalty was for Vettel was. What was he meant to do? Casual viewers will stop watching if thats whats going on.

Was a joke.

They've appealed it. I don't understand that because you can't appeal time penalties.

Vettel swerved to the right but that was to correct the car as he had no traction from going on the grass - if he did anything differently the car would've spun sideways, he was avoiding a collision with car/wall therefore should be a racing incident.

Applying the rules with no context. You wonder what the decision would've been had Charlie Whiting still been around.

To penalise someone for that is opening up a can of worms. Had he spun it probably would've taken both cars out. What was he meant to do?

They compared it to Hamilton in Spa 2008, when it was nothing like that Laugh

Terrible decision.

That was an excellent race. Verstappen was immense. What a charge.

Contrast that race to the absolute stitfest in France last week.

Nanny state F1 management will most likely penalise Max for that - there was a black/white flag in the F3 race earlier for the exact same thing

I hope not. Very little in that. Racing is knackered if there is a penalty.
