Both very good left backs imo, both have areas they could improved in.

Happy we’ve got penrice and made cash on Cochrane.

Cochrane was a better defender (although couldn't deal with a ball over the top) but Penrice offers far more energy and more in attack.

I prefer Penrice.

Both good, both have their flaws. Penrice loves to give a way a penalty and Cochrane loved a wee red Laugh

Cochrane is a stocky athlete with minimal football in him, quite obvious. Everyone else got it

Penrice was a midfielder and a winger so he’s still getting games under his belt in full back, on his current trajectory he’ll go far in the game. You get the feeling a proper coach should’ve got a hold of him a bit earlier. Playing catch up a bit.

He could do all the basics fine. That was his limit. A very basic player.

Could launch a long diag, though. Johnny Wilkinson would be proud. Helped us capture territory in the oppositions 22.

Rewriting history with Cochrane, he was a good player who provided goals and assists. Achilles heel being he had occasional errors that resulted in a rouge.

Penrice is a very good replacement who loves to give away a penalty.

We don't need to denigrate ex players all the time, specially when it's not really necessary.

Pondy will confirm my views on Cochrane have stayed consistent.

Provided goals and assists? Don’t remember him ever being Skacel but maybe Ive had some memory loss. Or could it be that you are rewriting history, rather than me?

Cochrane was fine, very replaceable and he has been no miss.

Cochrane has been playing every week for Birmingham who are strolling the league. Only 24 so could see him moving about a bit for multiple millions throughout his career.

He’s a mid table championship player. The fact he’s been playing for a team in league one means he’ll go for multiple millions throughout his career? I assume you mean 2 million rather than 40 million Warnock he’ll definitely be punted around quite a few championship teams over his career. He’s got good athleticism and can do the basics. He’ll carve out a big career in the 2nd tier down south. Lots of huddies down there worse than him.

His best bet is sticking with Birmingham and hoping their investment will get him into the Prem because no team in the EPL will be looking twice at him.

He'll end up in that 5-10 million bracket I reckon. Already got a lot of experience in different leagues/Europe and has improved a lot since he first joined Hearts.

As AJ says, we'll no doubt have made an arse of the sell on. Monty Oh Well

The reason Jamesy has given a couple pens away is ...

1/ Critchley has him up the pitch mainly so he's always making up for his coach's instructions limitations,
2/ He tends to be covereing for the rest of the fuckups in our defence.

The end!

5 goals and 15 assists over 3 seasons isn't bad for a left back, I'd argue he was better defensively than Penrice has been.

I'm not saying he's better overall than Penrice but he was good enough for us and doesn't deserve the unnecessary flak here.

Nahh, you're right Chuck, he doesn't deserve the flak, he was fine for us generally speaking. He was however, overrated by the Hearts support, imo.
