Maliglutit (the Searchers) 2016
6/10 ... dragged a bit, but I guess that was the idea, as they didn't have telly, internet or iPads back then. They put it on at our local community hall; kids were were pretty restless. ![]() https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Searchers_(film)

Fences 5/10. Boring, plotless movie that should've remained a play. Viola Davis was fantastic though.

Scent of a woman. 7/10
Al Pacino 10/10

Interesting. I would give the new Star Wars 65% max. Also the table further down the article shows user rating for Moonlight to be 72% which is what I would've given it also. Both critic scores are in the high 90s. I usually side with critics over user ratings, but I may have to re-think that.

65% is generous, I usually like Kermode but Commode would've been more appropriate for his willingness to accept shit in this particular instance.
In the games industry the massive problem with reviewers is that they've got too close to the developers and will never straight up call something bad for fear of not being invited to events or having sponsorship/advertising withdrawn. I think something similar must be happening in the film industry because it appears that they're now there to be cheerleaders for whatever the studios produce rather than actually critiquing bad films with bloated budgets and poor execution. The Last Jedi was shit and I've now seen a couple of articles where critics try to explain how it's the audience and fans faults for not "getting it" and giving it the same glowing reviews they have. They're lost up their own arse and it just makes me trust their opinion less. I've watched a few Hamill videos on youtube the last couple of days - To me the whole situation seems so cynical, which many of the fans have seen through and met with their own cynicism.

The only people I know that disliked the last Jedi are those with Star Wars bed sheets and desktop computers in their rooms. The film was stupid in parts but very enjoyable to watch much like every other Star Wars film previously made excluding the phantom menace and attack of the clones. They truly were gash.

El Clasico The Movie. 10/10
Look at last year's game from the Bernabeu.

been dipping into will smith's netflix effort, Bright.
There's times when it's a passable 'cops in LA' action film, but you're always remided quickly it's social commentary on race using goblins and orcs and is incredibly heavy handed. Also, all the characters are dicks.

Was going to give it a watch tonight, might not bother now

There's better stuff to watch over the festive period, but it's worth your time, probably.

Just watched bright.
Thought it was okay, whole racism thing was very blatant but quite enjoyed it. Good idea I thought.

There were 10 German bombers in the air
And Tom hardy of Britain shot them down ![]() Just watched Dunkirk, so fucking good. It was shot so well too, visually stunning and a great telling of the story.

Mother!
Wiggo/10 Absolute drivel, maybe it's one of those films I'll revisit in a few years and the penny will drop but for now I'd have to say it's absolute shit |
