Seem to recall Frail did well with the youth teams. Presumably why Celtic took him on. If he's being touted as being in the production line however, it's a large nah.
Seriously just get Darren Murray back. He's been kicking around the dregs boys clubs doing his box soccer thing, get him back in. Surely he can accept that it was Locke who chose to bring in Brown rather than promote him. Its a whole new regime at Heart now

Looked up Stevie Frail's CV, which is available in full technicolour online. In his 6 years at the club, he is able to name Liam Henderson, Tony Watt, Calum McGregor and James Forrest as the only players to have "broken through" to the first team. It's not exactly inspiring. Supposedly a good coach, but Christ, if he is next in the production line

Tbf, Celtic aren't really in the business of developing their own players so not an entirely fair representation of his talents. Shocked that he's been there 6 years though!

That's true, but I'd expect the previous 6 years to show that it is a fairly poor return - McGeady, O'Dea, Mulgrew etc will all have been in that previous group.

In fairness, only one of those three became a regular without having to leave and go back again first.

O'Dea and McGeady broke through without leaving first, I thought? If I've got O'Dea wrong, fair enough, but that was just a few examples off the top of my head, rather than the exhaustive list.

By 'regular' I meant more a player seen as a first pick or close to it: you're right that O'Dea broke through and was in and around the squad for a while, but I don't remember him being more than a prospect at any point. Was a while ago now, though.

John Murray.
The "fans" groups were gutted when Levein was appointed out the blue and gave John Murray a more senior role.
As soon as Levein is out the door, Mackay will be all over a Hearts job, propped up by his mates.
