Me and the Mrs watched a couple of this show last night. Highly entertaining. Some of the stuff they dare each other to say in their earpiece is outrageous Laugh

There's one where a wee kid comes up to their cart to get a hot dog and they have to say to him his a sexy little guy or something like that Zlat

Never laughed so much in my life.

What you're talking about is something like Beadle's About, where the public are essentially humiliated or infuriated. That's a cheap and nasty type of show, which only works if the mark 'falls for it'.

Impractical Jokes isn't about the member of public primarily; it's about the interplay between the joker in the field and his 'pals' observing/controlling him. It's creating something so embarrassing that you can only release the stress through laughter. If i were Lawson I would reference the various eavesdropping scenes in Much Ado About Nothing.

The fact that you don't understand it, means it doesn't matter that you don't find it funny. Roger, for example, doesn't find it funny but that's because the level of comedy is, at once, so powerful and so intertwined with discomfort that he can't handle it.

They also film the majority of it in new york city, so there's a constant stream of people to be had. I'm sure it'll become harder as years go by, but i doubt they'll ever struggle.

This is true, but at the same point that's clearly where they've got the biggest following since it's their 'home town'. They seem to have done more specials in different places (Atlantic City, Miami, Texas etc) which I imagine is partly because people there won't know them as well.

Think they said on one of the compilation episodes that people quite often recognise them, but usually in the clips they shoot out in the street so the fans just hang around nearby and watch rather than actually ending up in the show.

New York is fucking mental though. John Lennon could walk the streets and not get hassled (well, once he got hassled), so I think Murr will probably be okay.

The worst thing about Impractical Jokers is the number of shan Amy Schumer adverts there always are on comedy central. Mugbie

Caught some of that Amy Schumer once to see what all the hype was about, by Christ it's dreadful. Has she actually won awards for that "comedy"?

Her stand up is good for a girl comedian. Make of that what you will.
