He's the chosen one. We supposedly went over and above to get him, beat some English top flight sides apparently to his signature and spent some cash, he came with a lot if hype. So Levein and friends are absolutely determined to play him and justify all of the above.

The reality however is that he's total garbage and his position in the team is completely unjustified. He's started every single game so far this season and is the only player to do so other than Michael Smith. Of all the players, of all the performances we've seen so far in competitive games, there is no way Clare has done anything to merit not being dropped.

Palazuelos' best run in the Hearts side was as a replacement left-back when Lee Wallace was injured, never had much impact in midfield.

Apparently he's still playing in the third tier of Spanish football.

I think all the stick was completely deserved. But it's improtant to acknowledge any sort of improvement and against Ross county and Motherwell he has reached the levels of “ok at times”.

I'd still get rid of him tomorrow, no hesitations. But maybe he'll continue to improve.

The problem is when you look at his eyes, body language and how he puts himself about, there is something fundamental missing personality wise. In Scotland you have to win your battle and “earn the right to play” he thinks he's good enough to skip that. He isn't.

I don't think expectations is the problem, I have minimal expectations with any signing other than that I want to see them get stuck in when required. He very often shites it out of challenges and goes missing in games. I genuinely don't remember him doing anything last night other than miss a penalty and he's meant to be playing centre midfield. 

When Haring's fit or if Whelan is going to be playing in there with Damour then it should be Clare emptied out the team and not Irving.

Agreed Charlie. I don't really get Drederick's thinking. This isn't personal. Sean Clare won't be happy to sit on the bench all season but he is not good enough to play in the starting eleven for a Heart of Midlothian that has any ambition.

He is probably okay down in England where the pace of play is slower. If you don't do your research on players in England, you find they come up here and struggle with the fact that every ball is contested and the game is played much quicker.

He just wants way more time on the ball than he's going to get in Scotland
