Did we ever find out what offers we actually had on the table for Clark? Can’t remember who was in for him tbh so could be wrong but doubt he had a better offer in a footballing sense than his current gig. Maybe get a backup gig lower half of the championship that would pay better but where’s he going as number one?

I remember him being seen as solid signing and it probably being more confusing why he wasn’t signed up already? He fucked it thinking an English team was coming in for him, they didn’t and we got him as quite a coup considering the situation?

Within 6 months he was our no. 1 and being good at it.

He finished at St Johnstone as a double cup winner and couldn’t find a club until well into the new season. That tells me that he’s not as good as he thinks he is or that he’s potentially a bad egg.

I’m inclined to think it’s the former, but given the chat about what’s going on behind closed doors, it could be that he’s a wrong ‘ un.

Clarke is one of the only guys that can actually be unhappy about not playing. He was dropped for nothing at all really and has had to sit back and watch this seasons version of Gordon. He's lost his standing and his international place. We're all seeing this through Craig Gordon Hearts Hero Nostalgia Lens btw.

Here's some conspiracy based on half arsed rumours:

Gordon went to the board when he wasn't getting a game raging.
Favours were pulled. Clarke (one of the Dubai boiz) is out of the team and his high profile mates are pissed off about it (including the 'captain' and Francis)
Since then, the dressing room is a mess
Barry McKay has absolutely chucked it and actually refused to play in a game v Celtic which is why he has been disappeared.

I only ever remember Blackburn Rovers being linked, but definitely no concrete offers. I also remember plenty on here saying we should cash in if an offer was made too.

I just get the feeling he's so driven by his own personal goals/proving doubters wrong etc that we're stuck with this old guy due to his own ambitions rather than whats good for the team.

Aye whatever the circumstances. I don't think it's unreasonable to say he found himself out in the cold pretty unfairly tbh.

The jokes in charge didn't know how to handle the situation and I think there's a good chances it's at the root of most of the dressing room issues.

I say this as someone who was desperate for CG to get back in at the first chance.

Probably worth noting that even if Clark doesn’t play again he’ll have made 60+ appearances and his Scotland debut since signing a shree year deal as second choice keeper. That’s surely a ton more than he would ever have expected in that time?

Agreed. The longer he is out the better he gets in the eyes of many as well, he’s leaving with a very strong reputation within footbal circles.

His time has come, I'm afraid

He's still a good shot-stopper, but he's bereft of the confidence needed to come off his line (never his strong suit); it might be lingering memories of the injury or just plain old age, but he's just not commanding his box, and it's costing us.

I have no knowledge of what's going on with Clark(there's no fucking e in his name), but I'm fine with him seeing the season out and moving on if need be. That said, if he does go to Hibs, he can rot in the reserves. I was never his biggest fan, but he got dropped for less than what Craig has been doing recently.

It's not going to happen for Stone, and Fulton was signed as third choice so we might need to rely on The Process™® to unearth a new keeper in January.

Stone will be released end of season.

Sorry, i grew up with old yeller being my favourite player. I’d make a solid argument for him being the best Hearts player of all time and being in the top Scotland players of all time, definitely best keeper. However, our starting lineup isn’t:
