I played football with Jason Thomson growing up and he was so far ahead of the rest of us it was ridiculous.

Seeing where he is now tells me everything I need to know about my footballing potential Sob

In an incredible about-swerve from the dream's overarching plot, me and a boy I haven't seen since high school went to Tesco to stock up our flat. Afterwards we sat down to play cards by the checkouts. You had a reserved place at the table. When you showed up I threw some TH patter into conversation and you twigged who I was.

Thankfully after that I think my x-rated fantasy adventure resumed.

Anyone that can't recognise that is usually either jealous or deluded about their own ability. Think I've said before on here but I played against Jason Holt when he was 2 years younger than the rest of us and nobody could get near him.

That's true Mikey but you also get the people who make it to a decent level through dedication and hard work which i gave the example of, i was always more critical of myself than anyone else in regards to my ability, absolutey not deluded and definitely not jealous, envious probably. I'm not saying there aren't ones that stand out from an early age, i guess the majority do, i played a trial for Dundee United at centre back for some reason and got fucking ripped to shreds by Rhys McCabe who was playing up top for Rangers, i was also told by an ex coach at hibs that Holt was one of the best he'd seen at youth level.

Were you not the guy who didn't make it as a rugby player 'because of the school you went to'?

Craig Gowans was a year above me at school, and he was clearly head and shoulders above everyone.

Needless to say, I had the last laugh. Eek

I coach with a local woman's club (:begbieSmile

One player in the 17s is 13 and plays for Scotland u15s (MOTM in a game away against the Germans, naturally the high quality coaching she receives from her club, m80s Smug ). She is absolutely head and shoulders above the rest, even when she plays with the boys u15s. Absolutely outstanding footballer.

Hibs will snap her up and ruin her (:begbieSmile soon enough though Snake

Don't Hibs have one of the best women's set ups in Scotland?

Laugh

Aye, I went to school with a couple of guys who had pro contracts with Hibs and Falkirk, and they were brilliant players. I mind meeting this boy at uni who insisted that Robbie Horn was dreadful though. Said that he was picked last and was a terrible player himself at school (Dalkeith I think), but that Horn was nowhere near the best and folk were spewing when he got a professional contract at Hearts Laugh Sceptical, but what is more likely that he wasn't trying a leg at school.
