A group of us were planning to go tomorrow with but the train strikes have put our plans on hold, have 7 spare tickets now if anyone wants them.

We're in danger of starting to fall too far behind if we don't pick up a decent amount of points before the break.

1 league win since the end of August Monty But Need a win today.

Do we not need points before the break like?

We've got

Ross County (a)
Motherwell (h)
Rangers (a)
Livi (h)

I'd be hoping for 7-9 points from that and then we can regroup in good shape.

Aye we need to grind away and pick up points before the WC. Might win the day but it will be a close as fuck turgid game I think.

Sheep have Hibs, Livi and Dundee Utd. They will fancy all of those and we're already 5 behind. If we end up 10/12 behind at the break I'm not sure we're a good enough side to claw that back.

In the need a win camp. THeir last six homegamesread 1W2D3L, we really should be traking the three pts even with a made-up squad/team.
Defend by attacking, dont want them anywhere near our goal where set-pieces will do us! Neilson with Sibbick, Snoddy in the hole, Gino running direct and McKay mazy runs on other side. First time in Dingwall for us.

We are pretty desperate for a win like. The last thing we need is the team having to stew on a bottom half position for a month.

We will stroll 3rd because everyone else is bad, however we are actually very good as evidenced this season thus far.

Think we'll see the same team as Thursday but Snodgrass for Grant, Just not sure if he'll bring Neilson in for Kingsley or move Cochrane into the middle with Halliday left back and hope Cammy is fit

Why do people think it's unimportant to pick up wins at this stage Heh

Do we think Neilson is the guy to start really grinding out wins when the chips are down and there's a lot of pressure on us Laugh We could go above hibs if we win our games in hand but Dingwall is a hard place to go and st mirren have had a decent start to the campaign. It's 2 winnable games you wouldn't be shocked if we lost either so could really go either way.

If we end up 10+ behind before Christmas I'm not sure I'd be confident about STROLLING 3RD tbh.

Absolutely mental eh.

Just to repeat, we've won 1 game since August. We aren't going to magically start winning games just because Europe is done.

It all really hangs on our injuries tbf that's our big stumbling block. I hope we get the chequebook out in January and get some good bodies in with intent of chasing 3rd and cementing it for ourselves but somehow doubt that is happening.

Kingsley has done his hammy so it's another blow to the back the day, the makeshift defence is already toiling so not really looking forward to a wee run without him.

No one's saying that though  Jezza

Point is our current position is not necessarily indicative of how the season will end, in fact is highly unlikely to be.

There are a few of you acting as if the results now aren't important though because the course of the season can change though Laugh

Aye obviously it can but that's what I'm saying, do you back Neilson in a chase when there is a lot of pressure coming from the stands and we've not signed that well in the summer so relying on a good January and lack of injuries?  The more we fail now the harder it makes it post Christmas I don't think it's that controversial or OTT to say that.  I don't think Neilson is good enough to turn it round if things end up in a worse place before Xmas so I think these games are really important to pick up as many points as possible.

If we want to be a team that goes and pushes Celtic and rangers anaw then every single point of the season is important to pick up wins, you aren't afforded a free hit the first 15 games.  That's the mindset we need to have that all games are important.
