The Hunt (Jagten) - 9/10. Mads Mikkelsen is brilliant, and the film's gripping throughout. Difficult topic to approach which makes it fairly intense at times

The ending was really good - never saw it at all...

Starred Up - 6/10
Brittish prison drama about a 19 year old who is sent from a young offenders institute to an adult prison as he was causing too much bother, decent enough film but quite depressing

Really enjoyed the lack of score, it made the whole thing very tense. Jack o'connell is a great actor. He's obviously getting type cast from his role as Cook but watch 71 or Unbroken. Totally different characters.

The theory of everything - 7/10
A great performance from Redmayne but the film was only good.

Iv'e seen him in Eden Lake, Harry Brown, Dive (decent TV movie), Weekender, Towerblock and The Liability with Tim Roth (fucking awful film), thought he was a very good actor. In contrast I thought he was awful in Skins but that was probably just his shit character.

Dallas Buyers Club. Pretty incredible stuff from McCounaughey and Leto, immersing themselves in the roles the way they did. Very good. 8/10.

Mad Max: Fury Road
I liked the bit where the car crashed. 8/10

I think I've only seen him in a few things but he's played "Cook" so probably being harsh on him if he actually has just been type cast.

Nightcrawler - 7/10
Great idea for a film but felt like the writing was a little weak at one or two points. Jake Gyllenhaal really is a superb actor.

Watched Trance last night as it was on 4. Enjoyable enough but total nonsense. Thought that Cassel was wasted as he can play a role with real intensity but his character was totally one dimensional. 6/10
Rosario Dawson though. Pinilla.

Couple of netflix films at work over the last few days.
Dawg Fights - 4/10 - Â 'documentary' (half a step up from direct to youtube) about quasi-legal backyard fights in miami. Lots of trash talking and guys who are gassed after 2 minutes of brawling. fuck all technique and anytime a punch lands it's due to luck. It all builds up to the guy who runs it - who's a big bad motherfucker tbf - getting a shot at a legit mma fight. Hobo With A Shotgun - 3/10 - It looks and feels cheap and the fact that it's an exploitation film is just a lucky cover for that. Some of the violence is fun but the dialogue has nothing clever or knowing to say that might drag it out of the gutter. Probably the worst proper film i've seen for continuity errors. Bonus point for ending with Run With Us, the raccoons theme song. Both blissfuly short and vaguely enjoyable, but utter shite

Watched the Enfield Haunting 3xeps from Sky.
Really enjoyed it, though I can remember the actual media from when it happened and know how much of a storm it caused.. 7/10
